भाटकर हे जेष्ठ संगीतकार मा.स्नेहल भाटकर यांचे चिरंजीव. १९७५ साली
आलेल्या अश्रुची झाली फुले या नाटकाद्वारे मा.रमेश भाटकर यांचे व्यावसायिक
पदार्पण झाले. मा.काशिनाथ घाणेकरांनी अजरामर करून ठेवलेली लाल्याची भूमिका
त्यांना मिळाली. १९७७ साली आलेला चांदोबा चांदोबा भागलास का हा रमेश भाटकर
यांचा पहिला चित्रपट. त्यावेळी ते टेल्कोत नोकरी पण करत. विक्रम और वेताळ
ही हिंदीत मालिका केली. नंतर नोकरी सोडून पूर्ण वेळ अभिनय करण्यास सुरुवात
केले. कमांडर आणि हॅलो इन्स्पेक्टर या गाजलेल्या टीव्ही मालिकांमध्ये
झळकलेले मा.रमेश भाटकर यांनी 'तू तिथे मी' या मालिकेत व 'माझे पती
सौभाग्यवती' या मालिकेत कामे केली आहेत.
